What does Fear Free mean?
It is all about your pet
Fear Free is specialized training in how to read stress signs in pets and know when to continue and when to stop. Essentially keeping them below threshold with environment, handling skills, energy, and use of meds when needed. If any pet is over threshold and the pet cannot be brought below it, then they will only be traumatized further.
It is all about the journey to improve grooming skills with pets, not the trip.
Meet & Greet
We offer FREE Meet and Greets at our salon.
Meet & Greets are perfect for pets who have never been to our salon before and tend to be more on the nervous side. It is also good for those who have had a negative experience in the past.
It is beneficial because it allows your pet to meet the team and check out the salon, lowering the chances of being over stimulated for their first groom with us. We can also talk in person about any adjustments your pet may need from us.
Happy Visits
We also offer FREE Happy Visits at our salon.
Happy Visits are for pets who have been with us before, but still are on the nervous side. We schedule a time for you to drop them off for about 10-15 minutes and we spend that time completely focused on your pet. This helps us build a relationship and trust with your pet.
We can play, cuddle, give treats, whatever your pet wants to do.
We can do this as often as you and your pet would like.
Action Plan
We work with you and your pet to create an Action Plan for them. This means that the owners and staff are a team to help make it the best visit possible for your pet. We may give you "homework" or tricks to do at home to help your pet for future grooms. This also means that if you need help with the homework at home, we are more than happy to do so.
